Essential repairs to the building facade are necessary to ensure public safety. We apologize for this major inconvenience. Please read further for important parking information.<p><strong>Please take note of the following:</strong></p> <p>When our parking spaces are full, please <strong>do not park </strong>in the spaces marked for &ldquo;83 South Street.&rdquo;</p> <p>As another option, please consider parking in the metered spaces in Morristown, the Vail Mansion parking across South Street or at the parking garages around Town.</p> <p>There is ample metered parking on all the streets surrounding the library. <strong>The meters on South Street, Miller Rd. and parts of Maple Ave. have a 90 minute maximum time with the following rate:</strong></p> <p><em>90 minute meters: .25 for 15 minutes&nbsp;($1.00 per hour)</em></p> <p><strong>There are some meters on Maple Ave. that are 2 hr. meters with the following rate:</strong></p> <p><em>2 hr. meters: .25 for 20 minutes</em> (<em>.75 per hour</em>)</p> <p>The meters are in effect from 8 AM &ndash; 8 PM Monday- Saturday. The 90 minute meters accept credit cards. There is one handicapped space available on South Street in front of the library.</p> <p>The <a href=";SEC=%7BC3AE8F20-0883-494E-AEEC-5D3C99D07CD2%7D" target="_blank">Morristown Parking Authority</a> operates several garages and parking lots within easy walking distance of the library. Wed, 06 Dec 2017 05:00:00 GMT Thomas Nast Exhibit Be sure to visit the Library's exciting new exhibit, "More Than Politics: The Pen and Pictures of Thomas Nast". The exhibit will be on display in the Kirby Gallery from November 1 to January 31. <p> The artist lived a short walk from the library, at the corner of Miller Road and Macculloch Avenue. Images of his family, home and and local influences are explored, and selected examples showing the breadth of his work including children's illustrations, historical images, political cartoons, and his iconic drawings of Santa Claus are displayed in the exhibit. Nast's artwork has left a legacy to future generations that includes many iconic symbols that have become part of the American lexicon.<p>The Library&#39;s History Center has an outstanding collection of original and published works by Nast, including a first-rate collection of rare editions of his published works which include many lesser known illustrations, original Harper&#39;s Weekly issues (1857-1898), biographies and other materials related to his life and work.
