Biography of Helen Clark Frances

In the late 1920's, Helen Clark of Morris Plains, New Jersey was a registered Girl Scout of Troop No. 4 in Morristown. In October of 1927 she won a blue ribbon in the Girl Scout Garden Show and in 1928 she again won two Garden Show ribbons, one red and one gold. The prizes were presented by Mrs. Willard V. King, the first Girl Scout Commissioner of Morris County and an active member in national, state and local social welfare movements. In December of 1930, as the leading Girl Scout of the county, the Morristown Chamber of Commerce invited Helen to take the inaugural ride of the first electric train to be operated between Morristown and Hoboken.
